    • Ortho-Klor - Promising control in test gardens
    • Orthene - Controls small infestations
  2. APHIDS AND MOST OTHER INSECTS
    • Orthene - Probably most effective all-over insecticide. New formulation doesn't have that same strong smell
    • Malathion (50 Plus) - Old stand by, use only when necessary
    • Diazinon - Broad-spectrum insecticide, being removed from market
    • Insecticidal Soap - Safers, spot control only
    • Bug-Stop - Spectricide, Pyrethrum based, Broad-spectrum (contains cyflutherin)
  3. SPIDER MITES
    • Avid - 2 applications at  4 - 7 day intervals. Very effective, very expensive
    • Isotox IV - Also for insects, use as needed
  4. THRIPS
    • Orthene - 2 - 3 day intervals,  mist blooms as needed

Sprayer Types:

  1. COMPRESSION TYPE -  Two common types.  One uses garden hose to pressurize, the other uses  hand pump.  Both are good and efficient.  Add spray material to measured amount of water.
  2. HOSE-END TYPE - Attaches to end of garden hose.  Uses venturi to siphon spray material from bottle.  Need back-flow prevention devise on water line.  Not accurate or efficient. Use only for liquid fertilizers.
