WNYRS 2007 Rose Workshop

THE WNYRS ANNUAL ROSE CULTURE WORKSHOP was held on April 28, 2007, 10:00am to 1:30pm, at Zittel's Country Market, 4415 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg, NY, 716-649-3010.

The workshop included:
  • Presentations by David Swanka and Barbara Gaul on topics such as:
    1. How to select roses for your garden
    2. How to plant a rose in your garden
    3. The how and why of: fertilizing, spraying, and pruning roses
  • Demonstration by David Swanka on pruning and planting
  • Plant-A-Rose "Hands-On" Exercise by attendees
    1. Each workshop attendee planted a rose to take home and enjoy
    2. Experienced gardeners provided assistance to attendees, as needed
