THE WNYRS ANNUAL ROSE CULTURE WORKSHOP was held on April 17, 2010, 10:00am to 1:00pm, at Zittel's Country Market, 4415 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg, NY, 716-649-3010.

The workshop included:

• Welcome by Zittel's Nursery and Mary Jane Stuhr from the WNYRS
• Presentations:
1. "12-Step Plan for Growing Better Roses" by WNYRS Treasurer and NYS Master Gardener Joe Manuel
2. "Organics" by WNYRS member and ARS Consulting Rosarian Barbara Gaul
3. "Pruning Bare-Root Roses and How to Propagate a New Rose Bush" by WNYRS Lead Rosarian and ARS Consulting Rosarian George Styn
4. "How to Grow and Prepare a Show Rose"by WNYRS 2nd Vice President Steve Styn
• Plant-A-Rose "Hands-On" Exercise by attendees
1. Each Workshop participant pruned and planted a rose in a container to take home and enjoy!
2. The rose was the AARS 2010 Winner named Easy Does It
3. Experienced gardeners provided assistance, as needed
