OUR ANNUAL GROUP ORDERING & SALE OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER is held during the Winter-Spring of each year.

BENEFIT: The benefit is to provide members with the ability to purchase much needed organics at discount prices.

IMPORTANCE OF ORGANICS: The importance of adding organic fertilizers to your rose beds cannot be over emphasized!!. Not only do they supply needed nutrients at a rate that is very "rose friendly", but with the exception of Blood Meal, they are very safe for the roots. The application of Blood Meal must be carefully measured, since it will burn roots, but it still has a larger "safe" zone than chemical fertilizers. A good mix includes a bag of each of the meals with a half-bag of the Blood Meal mixed well, and applied at 2 cups per bush, evenly scattered and worked into the soil. This also makes excellent tea.

PROCEDURE:

• The list of available Organic Fertilizers is distributed to members at the Fall-Winter meetings, via the WNYRS Newsletters, and in the Members Only section of this WNYRS website.
• Order forms are made available to members at the Fall-Winter meetings, in the WNYRS Fall-Winter Newsletters, and in the Members Only section of this WNYRS website.
• Members need to submit their orders no later than the March WNYRS meeting.
• Payment is due along with your order when submitted.
• Organics are made available for pick up upon receipt from the vendor. The organics are available for pick-up on a specified weekend in April, or arrangements may be made for a different pick-up date-time. Remaining organics are brought to the April meeting for pick-up.

• Magnesium Sulphate (epsom salts)
