- April 19, 2008: WNYRS Rose Culture Workshop. Come plant a rose to take home and enjoy!
- June 14, 2008: WNYRS June Rose Show, Boulevard Mall, Amherst, NY
- August 17, 2008: Picnic at Mary Jan Stuhr's place at 1:00 pm. For members and guests. Bring a dish to pass.
- August 25, 2008: WNYRS Booth Exhibit at New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY
- September 5-7, 2008: New York District Convention & Rose Show at the Holiday Inn, 8250 Park Road, Batavia, NY. Hosted by the Rochester Rose Society and our Western NY Rose Society.

- June 21-22, 2008: Hamilton-Burlington Canadian Rose Society Show 2008 This unique rose show celebrates Canadian rose hybridizers and their successes in breeding hardy disease-resistant roses for cold climates such as ours in WNY. For more details, read the rose show chairman's invitation. The show is being held at The Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington, Ontario.
- July 26-27, 2008: Buffalo Garden Walk 2008 A free, self-guided tour of more than 260 Buffalo gardens, one of the largest garden tours in America. Garden Walk has become one of Western New York’s most anticipated summer happenings with tens of thousands of visitors joining in the walk each year.
- During 2008: Upstate Gardeners' Journal - Calendar of Events. Garden, horticulture and botany-related happenings in upstate New York, including Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester, Syracuse, and beyond.
- During 2008: Broadway Gardens Seminars & Events - an exciting lineup of gardening and pond seminars and events of interest to gardeners. All of the seminars are free of charge, except where a materials fee is noted. Broadway Gardens, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, 905-935-4659.
